Sample Cellular Phone Policy

While we recognize that there is often a business need to use cellular phones, safety must be our first priority.

If an employee needs to make a phone call while driving, he or she should find a proper parking space first. Stopping on the side of the road is not acceptable. The only exception is for genuine emergencies - an accident or a car breakdown.

Proper cellular phone use is one part of safe driving. Employees also should remember that while traveling on business, they are expected to use defensive driving habits.

In addition, (name of firm) understands there will be times when personal calls are necessary on company cellular phones. Please use professional judgement and keep personal calls within reason. If a cellular phone is on a plan with an allowance of set minutes, please use care in staying within this allowance. Excess personal phone calls will be expected to be covered at the employee's expense. If you have questions regarding this policy, please see the Firm Administrator.
